Stars for skills:
The LSC ESF Award
The Learning
and Skills Council’s (LSC’s) single goal is to improve the skills of
individuals across the UK to ensure a workforce of world-class
standard.
As
the LSC European Social Fund (ESF) 2000-2006 programme draws to a
close, we want to take this opportunity to recognise the hard work
that has been put into the success of the programme. We want
providers to look back at their Objective 2, Objective 3 or EQUAL
ESFfunded projects and nominate individuals who they feel have made
the most of the opportunities provided by the funding.
The awards will recognise individuals or beneficiaries, across all
six sub-regions, who have either excelled or made significant
progress in their programme. Entries from each sub-region will be
short listed in February and finalists will be invited to attend the
awards ceremony taking place at the Hayward Suite, Molineux,
Wolverhampton, on 12 March 2008, which will be hosted by BBC
Midlands Today journalist Ashley Blake.
The judges will be looking for the nominee with the best story to
tell in each category. The shortlisted and winning nominees will not
necessarily be those who have achieved the most, although this will
be a consideration, they will be those who have developed furthest
or have strived to overcome barriers or who have used their acquired
skills to the full.
